Metric versus Imperial

In my books, I made the conscious decision to use metric units, despite my own preference for antiquated units in the steampunk genre, mostly for the feel of the words.

As I’ve noted before, the setting of my stories was based on a role playing game I (and others) created years ago. This world and gaming system was not at all metric as far as we used it.

I’m currently working on a salable revamp of the gaming system and the system of measurements came up. I’m leaning toward metric for consistency with my books (which take place in the same universe) and for appeal to an international market.

Any suggestions? Feel free to leave a comment.

I am a sci-fi/fantasy author, currently writing in the cyberpunk and steampunk sub-genres. I recently published my first two novels, Cyanide Blue and Etiquette of Empire and the short cyberpunk story Puppetry, available in the apple IBook store and Kindle/Amazon store as ebooks.
